good afternoon friends & happy easter!

I hope you all had an amazingly lovely weekend!! JP and I couldn't have asked for a better one.  We opted to stay in the city and spend a quiet weekend.  No traveling, no visiting, no catching up.  We made a point of making it about us and I'm so happy we did.   Let me just say quickly how happy I am that he's my S.P.I.C.,  my Supreme Partner In Crime.  You'd think that with all the time we spend together, we'd get tired of one another and I'm so happy the opposite is true!

We spent Friday morning/early afternoon wandering about the one of a kind show.  We discovered that we spend most of our time and money in the food section and must remember to end with that section the next time around as opposed to starting with it.  we made friends with a number of vendors from the quebec area who all were baffled that we spoke french and yet came from ontario.

my sweet tooth won the best of my wallet and we walked away with jams, candy apples, and fudge.  it was difficult to not stock up on all the oils & vinegars (especially a pear balsamic) but i was reminded i could order online and visit again in december.  discipline! something i don't have much of. eeeeek

we also enjoyed an amazing dinner followed by a movie.  the whole day was unplanned and yet so great.  i wish my uptight, life planned out self could remember that the best days are the ones with no plan. :)

The rest of our weekend was pretty low key.  Lot's of sleep, a jog or two, some wandering up and down the streets in our neighbourhood and reading.  i've also been all too consumed by TED talks.  I think I've watched at least 1/2 a dozen this morning alone.  It's so easy to get caught up in them.

there isn't really too much to report on aside from that.  JP is dying for some warmer weather.  on Friday when we were driving along lakeshore and people were out and about jogging, he says to me   "hey olive, you know what time of the year it is?, to which I reply, what time?"  "that time of the year when girls start taking layers off! such a great time of year!"  ha the poor child, so deprived! :)  so for the sake of my poor boyfriend, i plead with you mother nature, bring on the warm weather!

i wish i had pictures of the weather this weekend.  the lake was beautiful.  the distinction in the colours of the water could easily have kept me nestled on the beach all weekend.  instead i leave you with pictures of all the reasons i look forward to summer eating and a break from the heavy food, as evidenced by the below...

i hope you all have a lovely week my friends.  i hope the easter bunny was kind.

xx
